Institute for Information Management Bremen GmbH (ifib)
The Institute for Information Management Bremen is a not-for-profit research institute at the University of Bremen. Our main research focus is on the organisation, management and use of information technologies in public administrations, in schools and universities as well as in work-related contexts. The scope of our work comprises the development of information systems starting from user needs, intra- and inter-organisational IT- and change management as well as user-centred evaluation. We have a high research profile in media and ICT literacy as well as in e-government research. We adopt an interdisciplinary qualitative and quantitative research approach with high emphasis on the contexts in which IT has to be embedded. We also combine research and research transfer as we are convinced that relevant insights into socio-technical and organisational challenges can only be gained if researchers can also assume an active role in their projects.
Institute for Music Education Research, Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media
The Institute for Music Education Research (Institut für musikpädagogische Forschung – ifmpf) at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media carries out interdisciplinary and integrative research in the fields of historiographical, systematic and comparative music education. Music education research means not only basic research, but also practical applications, such as didactic theory and teaching materials. In combining education and research, our students are introduced at an early stage to the most current research findings and are encouraged to apply them. In addition to its ongoing projects, the Institute publishes a series of research reports, practical experience reports, and monographs which document the results of our work. We also publish work by researchers outside of the Institute. The opportunity to publish in-house allows for the prompt dissemination of current research results.
